Villa Gary in the past

1902-1903
Villa Gary is located in the southwest of Berlin on a plot of land that was separated from the Dahlem estate at the beginning of the 20th century during the German imperial era, on the condition that an English-style country mansion be built there. Between 1902 and 1903, the Berlin architect Felix Lindhorst was commissioned by Max Gary, one of the co-founders of the nearby Federal Institute for Materials Research, to design and build Villa Gary, one of the first mansions in the Lichterfelde Villa Colony. In the 1990s, the park-like grounds were redesigned so that the original character of 1903 with the existing old trees can once again be admired.
Villa Gary today
2024
Following its renovation in 2022 and 2023, the heritage-protected Villa Gary now houses a few apartments, an office, and a seminar house that is available for events with up to 50 people. The seminar house is a place for events, gatherings, learning, and discussion – to search and discover together. It offers groups, institutions, and organizations space for seminars, retreats, workshops, meetings, and local events on scientific, artistic, and social topics. With its welcoming atmosphere, Villa Gary is also designed as the ideal venue to be rented for in-person meetings of management of companies, associations and other organizations. Villa Gary is politically, ideologically and religiously independent.
