Energy Discourse
at Villa Gary
Competent – specific – constructive.
Welcome to the Energy Discourse at Villa Gary, Berlin. This new event format brings leading minds from business, science and politics together to work in a small group to develop a concept on how to realistically ensure a secure, affordable and environmentally friendly energy supply in Germany, while taking into account the requirements of climate protection.
Workshops for a viable energy strategy: actively shaping solutions
It is doubtful that the German C02 reduction targets and the resulting transformation of the German economy can be achieved in the ways proposed so far. By now, experience has shown that the targets are unrealistic, and that the necessary financial resources are not available to achieve the goals as currently stated. The Government lacks the necessary resources in the face of declining economic growth, and unrealistic official goals lead to private sector investments either not being made or being misguided.
The Energy Discourse 2025 at Villa Gary aims to develop realistic transformation paths for dealing with climate change in our country in a series of topic-centered workshops for a limited number of decision-makers and multipliers from business, science and politics, as well as energy experts and journalists. The events will take place in an innovative, interactive discourse format under Chatham House Rules. However, the results will be published in order to make an impact.

“Die Diskussion und die nötige Tatkraft rundum das Thema Klima werden hier ernst genommen. Es wird spürbar, wie viel wir erreichen können, wenn wir uns alle einmal an einen Tisch setzen. Ich freue mich auf die nächste Veranstaltung im Februar.”
